China now has ’10 Fingers Strategy’

Dr. Sangay with the audience

September 22nd, Chandigarh: The 108 Peace Institute, in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, Panjab University, organised a talk by Dr. Lobsang Sangay on ‘Tibetan Buddhist System of Reincarnation: Spiritual Tradition, Geopolitics and Global Implications’. The talk was attended by more than 80 students and the faculty members.

During the talk, Dr. Sangay highlighted the importance of controlling the narrative. Dr. Sangay gave an example of his narrative control on ‘China’s Five Fingers Strategy’. Dr. Sangay asked the students to search on their mobile phones who was the most quoted in the last 10 years on China’s five finger strategy in the media. The students were appreciative of the search result. Dr. Sangay said that whenever there is a border incursion from China, I always say it is a part of China’s Five Finger Strategy. Today, this strategy is familiarised among media and think-tanks.

Hence, Dr. Sangay said that if you think an individual cannot make a difference, here is an example of mine.

Furthermore, Dr. Sangay said that China now has a ten finger strategy. China’s influence in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Maldives results in further containment of India from becoming a number one in Asia. The talk ended with an exchange of Q&A.

Dr. Sangay presented a copy of ‘Voice for the Voiceless’ to Prof. Navjot, HoD of the Department of Political Science, Panjab University as a token of gratitude.
